From Brazil to New York: Igor Kischka’s First-Ever NYC Workshop + Show

On September 21st, we had the immense pleasure of hosting the incredible Igor Kishka from Brazil for a day of dance, connection, and unforgettable artistry right here in New York City. Igor brought his signature presence — powerful, graceful, and deeply rooted in tradition — to two inspiring workshops, followed by a stunning performance at the JBelly Nights show in collaboration with Janelle Issis at the Secret Room.

It was a celebration of technique, joy, and the universal language of movement — and everyone left the room glowing.

Who is Igor Kischka?

Hailing from Brasília, Brazil, Igor Kischka is one of the most celebrated male belly dancers in the world today. With over a decade of teaching, performing, and innovating in the realm of Arab dance, Igor has captivated audiences and inspired students across more than 30 countries, including Japan, France, Mexico, Germany, and the UAE.

Known for his bold elegance, technical precision, and deeply expressive movement, Igor has developed a signature style that challenges traditional expectations and celebrates the full beauty of oriental dance.
